Running for Sight & Sound!

Hello, my name is James and I am an Optometrist at Melina Joy Opticians in Heathfield.  I'm taking on the challenge of running the London Marathon on Sunday 27 April to raise funds for Wealden Talking News & Magazines who are based just down the High Street to us in Heathfield.  They are a fantastic talking newspaper charity that provides vital audio news and information for visually impaired people in East Sussex.

As an optician, I see firsthand how vision loss impacts daily life.  It is important for people with sight loss to stay connected to their communities. The WTN service ensures they have access to local news, magazines, stories, and updates that many of us take for granted.

I would love to support this local charity run by a brilliant group of volunteers and they have been recognised for their efforts with The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service
